Default 2008 Dodge Charger won't start

Recently my Charger quit starting. The battery is good, lights and everything work fine. Remote unlocks doors and opens trunk fine. However, when i put the key (not an actual key, just a little electronic box) into the ignition and turn it nothing happens. That starter doesn't try to turn over, can't take the car out of park. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

If you find that your key IS bad, have the dealer check for the H30 recall. You get 2 sparkling new ones!

Dawg,

Here is a copy of the recall mentioned above.

Customer Satisfaction Notification H30

Remote Keyless Entry Transmitters
Those vehicles that have already had this repair performed, as determined by our
warranty records, have been excluded from this notification.
2008 (LX) Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum and Charger
2008 (RT) Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country
2008 (WK) Jeep Grand Cherokee
2008 (XK) Jeep Commander
NOTE: This notification applies only to the above vehicles built through
October 30, 2007 (MDH 103000).
The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitters on about 169,800 of the above
vehicles may exhibit poor retention to the valet key and could inadvertently
separate from each other.
Both RKE transmitters must be replaced and the new transmitters must be
programmed.

do you have a 2nd key to try? Does the Red warning Light on the dash comes on or blink?
I am going to say you have a bad key. Like everyone else said. The Recall is very limited, most cars are not covered. But call ur dealer.

No 2nd key. It was lost shortly after i got the car. I called my local dodge dealer and they said that my VIN matched the recall, but they need to have the key and the car and that's a problem because the car will not start..... So now i'm gonna have to end up paying to get the car to the dealership

The recall is for this symptom...

The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitters on about 169,800 of the above
vehicles may exhibit poor retention to the valet key and could inadvertently
separate from each other.
...so at least the keys are paid for.

I had the same problem. My car had a delayed start and sometimes wouldn't start. After looking around online I found where someone said to replace the "starter relay" so I did that and as of now it is starting instantly. The starter relay is located under the hood in the fuse box it's #9 I just bought one for $20 at orielly (if that's how you spell it) like I sai it is working like a charm now hope that helps you
