Default Charger Timing Chain Tensioner Recall Info?

This recall has popped up again recently getting out of the 2009-2012 range into some 2013 models.

If there are any dealership folks reading this we would love to know the VIN number range and any details, even the part numbers of the replaced defective item.

Thanks

2therock,

All vehicle owners can use recalls.mopar.com to check and see if they have an open recall or customer satisfaction notification on their vehicle. For this CSN, the new part number for the timing chain package is CBPRN291AA.

Thank You,

A question we cannot find an answer to is what is better about the tensioners or any of the replacement parts, and the ones on the non-2013 and up?
What was the fix? What makes it a better component?

Well I found some images and to me it (the originals?) should be called the timing chain tensioner grenade because of the look of it with the ring-pin that's pulled after assembly. Pull the pin and wait?

From my searching it looks the same and the chain is of better quality, and the spring tension is changed.
The part number is not the same as I see going around either. This post was made in 2014. The part number for the kit now is CBPRN291AA. The date on the bag is 2012.

I hope someone will get updated images for us soon.

Old thread revival.. I haven't been around lately but just added a low mileage 09 Charger Rt to the family .
i went in to schedule the air bag recalls to fix that and find out when they pulled my VIN this car hadn't had the timing chain tensioner done yet....didn't show up when I ran autocheck but Mopar knew.
for those that have had the timing fix done have there been any issues with it since ?

The only thing you have to worry about is the quality of work like an oil or coolant leak which is rare because most dealers will have a seasoned mechanic to this work.
How many miles do you have on her?
A compare and pic of the kit below. I'm luck enough to have a 2013 that got by it. Originally it was up to 2012 but they found some engine numbers from 2013 models that got in there. Its the same tensioners kit the SRT's have,

Good ,the replacement looks a lot healthier than original. Thank you for the pics.
Mine has got a little over 33,000 original miles and basically like brand new, supposedly garage kept well maintained etc....except for those pesky recalls I suppose.

Don't fret on recalls, we could revert to the past and just be stuck with what we have and be on our own.
WoW, an 09 with 33k, nice. My 2013 purchased in 2017 had 60k but was like yours, like new garaged and babied.
