Default Fail Safe Thermostat

Hello SRT8 owners. I have a 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee Hemi 6.1. Can anyone recommend a thermostat for the car. A mechanic recommended a fail safe thermostat versus a regular thermostat. What is a good brand name thermostat for my car. Please help. Thanks.

The 5.7 Hemi Mopar thermostat will fit a 6.1 Hemi?

.

It's not the fit you need to worry about. You do, but in your case it's the temp./heat of when the thermostat opens up to allow full circulation from the radiator to your engine.

I would stick with the OEM part as your replacement. By doing so, the fit and function of the thermostat will be met. And you won't have to worry about either later.

Don't forget to orient the little air or burping valve in the 12 o'clock position.

Don't bother with the safety stats. The tend to fail rather quickly.
