Default 2011 Dodge Charger PCM issues/

Hey guys I've been having an issue with my Charger since Oct. 7th. I will try and make this short. I took it to first auto store. They said it needed a New PCM, mine was shot. They ordered a new PCM for my car(important to note the PCM was not completely new, used, but taken from another dodge charger). A Programmer came in to program my VIN to PCM and coded the PCM into my car. It wouldn't work. Anyways, I ended up taking it to another auto store. I put my old (nonworking PCM) back into car. Now, it stands that my Charger is in an anti-theft mode. ??... I'm thinking what happened is the old auto store did not code my old PCM back into my car before sending me off. I have a bit of knowledge on cars, but this is now beyond my abilities. The mechanics at new place have been having issues fixing it (and i promise they actually know what theyre doing) and I'm getting a little desperate to fix this thing. The only thing I can assume is since the VIN wasn't coded back to my current PCM that my car is now thinking it's stolen. But how to fix this? I have no idea. If anyone has any advice/idea I would appreciate it greatly. Thank you!

Your old PCM would still remember the VIN. So, don't think that is the issue. More than likely, when they disconnected power to swap it, (they DID disconnect the battery, right?) the anti-theft mode got triggered. Seems to me, you should be able to just disarm the alarm, and things should work..... Not 100% on that though.

Got it, thank you. I am unsure if they disconnected the battery, but assuming and hoping they did... I'll keep this in mind and relay to auto store. Thank you!
