Dodge ChargerThe Dodge Charger. The car that made its competitors shiver in the 60's is reborn in 2006 into a sleek sedan that can still send the competition home wimpering, the Dodge Charger.
I recently purchased this used hellcat with 8K miles and I found some strange wires, could it be a kill switch, microphone, radar, or alarm system? I believe its after market This blinks red when I touch it Random wire This light blinks blue when I turn off the car
Can someone help me figure out what this is and how can I get it removed
The first one might be an ambient lighting LED to light up the footwell. It's pretty difficult to tell from the photo though. I agree, the second image does resemble a hands-free microphone, but I'm not sure why they'd install it on the passenger side if this is a left-hand drive car. I have seen some laser light projectors about that size as kind of a poor-man's starlight headliner. The blue LED above the mirror could be for an alarm, but since it starts to flash as soon as you shut off the car I'd be more inclined to think it's just wired into a battery source as well as a switched source and starts to flash as soon as switched power goes away.
The best thing to do though would be to trace the wires for each of the items back to where they are connected/spliced in and remove them properly, then appropriately seal up the splice if applicable. Also while in there, check for evidence of hacked up wiring and repair anything that isn't done well to avoid future headaches or possible electrical fires. I'm seen some pretty crappy work come out of some "professional" install shops.
