Question 2015 dodge charger SE AWD V6

I've been told by a shop that I need to change the accelerator pedal position sensor they said there's 2 sensors. I don't know what other sensor they're talking about. TIA car acceleration is spotty some times it's lunges forward with little pressure on pedal. It also seems to be shifting hard. There is not a check engine light being shown. I have a couple things I need to fix valve cover needs changed its leaking oil cv joint needs changed because the axle boot is torn off. Mainly trying to get more info on the accelerator pedal sensor. AAMCO said that they don't think it's the transmission because it's suppose to be maintenance free transmission. They wouldn't check it because there isn't a dipstick to check it.

Not 100%, but, I suspect the are referring to the pedal position sensor, (which tells the PCM how hard you are stepping on the go pedal) and the throttle position sensor, which tells the PCM how far the throttle is open. Gotta love throttle by wire.... Or not.... If the pedal position sensor is giving out bad info, the PCM has no way to determine that it is indeed bad.... so, won't necessarily set a code.

With throttle by wire the accelerator pedal position signal is a redundant system, but I'm not sure if it's more than one physical sensor or just multiple encoders in a single sensor. You might want to see what RockAuto or any other parts source lists for accelerator pedal position sensor(s), assuming you don't have access to a service manual.
