ORIGINAL: BadStratRT

ORIGINAL: illy

ORIGINAL: Dartman69

Pretty sharp Illy! Your Challenger was the same colour as my Swinger Special ironically. lol

Is that R/T all original?

What's she got under the hood?
It was a 440 Magnum / 727. The car had the strangest options and I loved it! It had the 14" (not 15") Rallye wheels, luggage rack, 8-track, rear window defroster and an interior that matched the exterior, it was a strange car. I sold it because at the time. prices weren't really moving on these cars. Well, 7 years later and the thing is probably worth 40-60k, I only paid 14k for it and a lot of old timers back in 1999 thought I was crazy for paying that!

Hopefully as the stock market strengthens and the housing market softens, the supply of these cars will increase a bit so the prices come back down. Prices on E-bodies was pretty crazy in 1991-1993 too, it seems to be cyclical.
the frenzy over the new challenger has actually brought the e-bodies into the highest price range now...there were e-bodies at the nationals completely rotted out, with no drivetrain, going for 10 grand...
when the dukes of hazzard movie came out last year, or whenever it was, 68-70 model chargers with good bodies and no drivetrains were goin for around 30K. apparently everybody wanted to have a general lee.

I still own mine. It's the baddest Mopar ever made. It's not some fancy fhoo-fhoo E body. 1969 Superbee 440/727 A/C P/S

By the way, TB3412 has moved on in our lives. We traded it and the Hemi truck for a Diesel. Sure was fun!!!

It`s a toss up between the 73 340 Duster and the 68 383 Super Bee

Duster b-5 blue
340 bored 30 over TRW 10.5 forged pistons
727 auto beefed up
Edelbrock Torker intake
800 cfm Thermoquad
Hooker headers into 2 1/2 duals thru turbo mufflers- forgot the name

68 Super Bee - wanna bee
68 Coronet Lipstick Red w/ black bee stripe
Origonal fiberglass 6-pak lift off hood
383 ci
Edelbrock Tarantula intake
Holley 750dp
Hooker headers into 2 1/2 duals - again forgot muffler name
8 3/4 rear w/ 3.23 and Sure Grip

Hurst ****ed 4 - speed
Both were bad *** in my life

Now it`s the 2006 Charger R/T
Silver Steel Metallic
slowly modding

I guess I can say...

My greatest regret was hating my 71 Roadrunner. It was the best of times for me in 77 to own and drive that monster. What fun when it ran well.. What a pain when that 440/6 wanted to be finicky or load up. I'd love to have it back right now.. I'd also have a great relationship with my local performance mechanic.

I had an 85' Shelby Charger turbo... That car was a blast, I bought it from a guy that inherited it from a passed away family member. He drove a VR6 Volks and said that the Shelby was too much car for him. He thought it had a V-8. I purchased it for $1,800 cash and it was almost perfect condition with Einkie vented wheels. I ripped into the car and found some after market upgrades, the cam and computer had been changed and it screamed!! I only lost one drag races and it was from a 1999 Lexus GS400.

That car handled like it was on rails and would smoke the tires in four gears. I burned up three sets of times in two years. I also blew up three transmissions racing it. It was blue with the silver racing stripe.

I have a 2006 Charger R/T and love it, but to be honest the Shelby Charger was way more fun to drive and handled better. When I raced it the gas mileage was not any better than my new Charger!! about 10-13 miles per gallon, cruising got me closer to 30 mpg.

Love that car!!

i had a 69 impala. itwas my fathers and when he gave it to me it had about 5000 in the top end of the motor. he never told me what he had in it and i wish i new. the night that he gave it to me was the night that he pulled the front tires off the ground and then let his friend drive it and he poped the clutch and drove it up a b ridge wall and blew the motor. i never even got to drive the thing.
