Default Nav and MP3 player

Does the NAV option always come with the MP3 player?
Thanks,

I believe you can get the nav package for either radio... you have to get the Sound Group 2 upgrade for the MP3 radio.

If I understand correctly there are different nav packages for each (one comes with the 6 disc changer if you have the base radio)

Well, I have the nav, and no jacks for a mp3 player. Or, do you mean that my 6disc will read mp3 cds?

My 6 disk (with NAV Package) pays MP3's, and very well. The disk has to be recorded in a specific common format. It is spelled out in the owners manual. It shows directory names at the top, and song names in the middle. It can only display something like 16 characters, so if you want to see the whole name, keep it short.

I can keep about 6 high bitrate CD's on 1 MP3 CD. Now it is a 36 disk changer! Using average bitrate songs I usually get about 100 songs on a mix CD. It sounds great!

The NAV information still sucks. See my post on 10 year old data on the NAV computer.

I was asking if it played MP3 cd's. I wasn't sure if the upgraded radio was needed or if the NAV package included this feature.
Thanks!

Yep

The NAV is irrelevant... you can get it with both versions of the CD player. The MP3 version will say so...

Or you could burn a CD and test it out.

that's one upgrade I didn't get in mine that I wish I had.

I'm perfectly happy with the stock, basic stereo settup... but I wish I could drop a CD-R in it.

I have an ipod... waiting until some engine upgrades and window tints are done before I have it installed...

Speaking of IPODs, I'm thinking of getting an '06 Dodge R/T with the full-up NAV system and was wondering if there are any aftermarket products yet that can interface an IPOD with the car's stero/NAV system.

Thanks!
