Default I got a question for wheel/tire guys...

Tirerack shows on an upgrade to 20" wheels that 245/40/20's would be the tire to go with. But the SRT8's come with 245/45/20's. I have 245/35/20's on mine now. They are waaaaay too small, but which ones are the right fit? I want as much meat as possible. Thanks... I'm a newbie by the way...

The only difference your talking about is sidewall height. Basically, the distance between the rim and the outer most point of the tire. 35's are indeed tiny. I ran 45Z on my car prior to switching back to 50's. The difference between a 35 and a 45 is at best an additional 1/2 in of thickness. You could probably run 45's on your Charger, but I would be concerned with rubbing. The SRT-8 has a different suspension that's built with those large wheels in mind. Granted, all the Chargers have the same wheel well spacing, but the suspension plays a bigger part on the wheels themselves.

I'd like to say that I think you'd be fine in running a 45. You are only talking about an additional 1/2 of thickness...and since its only a 20", I dont think you should have any worries on rubbing except at possibly max wheel turn.

Off the topic: I saw the stone white custom interior tag you included. Did you swap out your stock interior?

The reason I ask is my Top bananna has black interior and I live in tx. It would have been great if it were gray or white. How much did it ocst and what color is your dash?

I have tinted my windows as dark as I can go legally.(looks really cool)

Default Well I think ALL the dashes are dark charcoal/black..

the only thing they change is the accent colors from light gray to tan. I had the light gray with my charcoal. I put in light gray leather with medium gray suede inserts and medium gray top stitch. I used Classic Soft Trim to do the seats. There is several locations in TX. It cost me 1300$. I'm really happy with the quality. You go by and tell them what you want (out of their 100 or so swatches) they order the kit the way you want it and you drop it off in the morning, and get it back in the afternoon. Hope that helps!

He just changed the subject line, i.e., he hijacked the thread.

Default TIRE GURU

Send a note to Jim at Jim@Tirerack.com.

When I had my BMW 330xi, Jim was very helpful in finding replacement wheels that would fit my car using "minus-1" sizing (for winter weather). This was difficult because the 330xi had 13" rotors on all four corners, as well as a unique front suspension to handle the X (AWD) transfer case.

Jim is extremely knowledgable about all the tires tirerack sells as well as TIRES NOT AVAILABLE FROM TIRERACK!! He won't steer you wrong (no pun intended )
