YOu said the dealer offered you 30k is your Daytona fully loaded? That is not a bad price how much did you pay?

Mine is fully loaded minus the rear entertainment DVD player. I think these cars are going for less than 30K.

3767, in an alter ego moment, I also wanted the SRT8. In fact, I was upset with Dodge they didn't offer the 6.1 in a MUCH prettier car -- the Daytona model. I also checked around and got the imaginary inflation price of $5,000 over the sticker price of the SRT8 -- when on Ebay, they were being sold at sticker. Of course, they were giving me only $28-30 for my "new" Mango Daytona. The difference would be around $12,000 or so, and like you, I thought it was too much difference -- however, I felt it was too much difference for a car that looks like a $25,000 black Charger anyway. I mean come on, a block away you think it's just another black Charger, but with my Mango Daytona, there is no mistaken identity. My Mango Charger, or ANY of the Daytona models, are probably one of the nicest looking cars on the road today and are definately NOT mistaken for a base model (unless your close of course).

Besides, with a few mods, I'm not that much performance off from the SRT8's stock numbers.

So, for me, my car is tops. Oh sure I don't have the 6.1, but I'm not just another black car, red, or silver car...

With a CAI, the aftermarket catback exhaust of your choice, and a superchip, you're probably within 15-20 Hp of the SRT8 anyway and only out about $1300. Take the difference in price and invest into headers and a supercharger you could blow away the SRT8 and have change left over for burgers and brew for quite a few weekends.
