Default Appears it is a bad shock/strut

Went to the dealer and it appears there's a bad shock/strut. They had to order it and I will take the car in Friday. They are going to replace the bad part, align it, and reimburse me for the prior alignment I had done. Turns out that the original alignment specs called for .15 degree of toe-in. Guess what? There are new specs calling for zero, nada, NO toe-in. If you've got an SRT-8, those specs call for .20+, or toe-out.

We also adjusted/played with tire pressure. It would appear that these cars are very sensitive to tire pressures. Mine are set at approx. 30 now, but I will check them in the mornng to be sure that's where they're at. Just that made a HUGE difference in the way it drove. Who woulda thought?

The bad shock/strut (right front) is, more than likely, the cause of the bad ride, AND the steering problems. So, we'll see what happens when I get it back Friday night. They were really very nice and accomodating. We took two other R/Ts out to compare. One was very close to the way mine is, the other was better. Of course, this was after we adjusted the tire pressures on mine and took it out for a ride. Dealership guy liked the way my car ran, and LIKED (nmboy and baldyloxs) ) the sound of the MAGNAFLOW exhaust. Sorry guys - couldn't resist. You know me.....

Glad to hear you're getting it narrowed down... and glad they are nice to you. Hey, I like my Magnaflow tips... it was the stupid pretty chrome "true-x" Magnaflow muffler that produced tons of DRONE that I took off...

Hope you get your car to be better than new.

It's nice to hear that......I guess no more talk of trading in the R/T then..........Great, cause we all discussed it and you're a great "get", and I'd hate to see you in a Ford or Chevy....[X(]

It's interesting that they didn't catch the bad strut the first time around. They got it this time though so life should be good again.

Tire pressure sensitivity would be more a function of tire sidewall compliance. A "softer" tire would be more sensitive to tire pressure than a tire with a stiffer sidewall but would ride smoother at the proper inflation - one of the differences between sport and touring tires. When I go out to play, I'll pump up the tires a couple of pounds or so to increase sidewall stiffness for better handling and when I get back home, I bleed them back down to my "daily driver" setting to keep my fillings in place.

Good to see they made things right for you.

first of all hello to all charger owners.ok i bought 1342 go mango dec. of 2005. get this payed 30500 out the door. i guess when i drove 73 440 se in . they new i wasnt going to pay alot. i was there 3.5 hous and deal was done . no i did not trade in 73 se. not when i spent 10 years restoring her.
car like a model .my be 150 miles in ten years.
ok lets get to to point. first the paint has stuff in it .found three spots on body and the jams are filled with it, also stearing seems shaky when hitting bumps. so i took her in. i hate when other people work on my cars, but its under warrenty. first the stearing wheel slightly to right when driving but car pulled to left hard. took to dealer he did tire rotation and said it would help. not. took it back and told dealer still pulling so he said leave it over night that they do a alighnment on it. they call me at 1130 and said couldn't get on rack .so i said keep it until its fix . called me back 20 min later said it was fix. hum 20 min to do alighnment wow .picked up car and asked what they did ? and they said alighned it .they took it to a citco? dove it home still pulled to right but not as bad . stearing wheel was straight ,but still pulled . now wheel jerks hard going over bumps and also
drifts left to right pees me of sometimes. dealer said theres not a lot of room for movement in alighnment. i also hear a slight movement in the back somewhere . i got mopar headers to be installed but not going to do it till this is fixed. as far as mods only mopar cai. can anyone tell me a good exhaust to us i was looking at corsa exhaust . any suggestions.
also dealer said if they fix the paint that they would have problem matching . i fin this hard to believe this is 2006 these guys shuold be masters. any one else have these issuse?
