Still kickin around idea of resonator chops..
Jules,
I went a different way than most. As I have said a time or two here, I went with Magnaflow straight through tubular resonators where my suitcase was. I put Spintech mufflers in the back where whatever those huge factory things were. I have LOTS more growl but over all not much louder then a stock Daytona, just deeper. As for drone, it was removed all but completely with the Magnaflow resonators.

My first Mod, 24 hours after driving off the lot... was to cut out the suitcase type muffler, welding in straight tubes where the suitcase was and keeping the stock mufflers at the back. I had little or no droning and was much much happier with the audio performance.
I next decided to install the Borla 125's Great *****.. terrific tuned performance sound.. and 0 drone.
To be loud ?!! I installed the electric cutouts, that are little more than a y pipe after the Cat.. one side goes on out through the exhaust system, and the other through an electric *gate* that just dumps exhaust out under the front seats.
I have the best of all worlds, Performance, tune, controlled exhaust for civility in the neighborhood and with passangers, As well as earth shaking dragstrip audio when I'm bossing my way around the county..
Ohh btw.. With the gates open.. I get a horrendous drone.. but if I'm willing to let the MSD operate, I'm not looking for much performance from my beast.. I'll likely be running with the Borla system.
Personal Note. Flow Master is nothing but a sound master. If FlowMaster is your choice, prepare for reduced performance from your unit. Its proven time and again.. Flow Master exhaust are restrictive & is for audio performance only.
Good luck in what ever choice you use..

Thought I'd throw in my 2 cents worth. I removed the suitcase muffler/resonator or whatever and replaced it with two Magnaflow mufflers pt number 11235. They were a perfect fit and took about 45 minutes to install. Saved a few pounds too. The suitcase was heavy. I'm keeping the rear thingies for now and added a Mopar CAI. I get a nice mellow idle, no drone and when I stomp on it the exhaust comes alive. It and the CAI will let you know who's in the area. My Charger sounds like what a performance car should sound like.....The unit has been on the car for 6 mos and is getting a little louder, nothing annoying, just a little more authorative and the wife has'nt complained yet!!!
