New Daytona owner
We just put a deposit on a 06 Daytona in Tor-red. Should be picking it up next week. Is there anything I should know/look out for? Im in NE Pa, how are they in the snow? The cay is for my wife mostly and she is going from an all wheel drive Durango to a RWD Charger. Thanks for the input

First, welcome to the board, Don. Glad to have you aboard!
I'm sure she will notice the difference. However, hopefully it will be a short learning curve for her. The traction control and stability program should help her quite a bit. I guess I'd just say slow and steady and she'll be fine.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. The salesman said the same thing, but we all know how they are. We have 2 other 4wd vehicles so its not too big of an issue, but I just wanted to know the truth from real world experiance. We started out looking for a Wrangler or an SXT or possibly an R/T. When my wife saw the Tor-red Daytona, she had to have it. She would not have settled for anything else. So the dealer had to find us one with the options she wanted. They think they found it, they just need to verify it on Monday. The employee pricing is what makes it a good deal. Am I allowd to post pics? If so I can post some up once we get it.

Welcom Don,
Please post the PIC's as soon as you get them We'ed all love to see them.
I know how it is when you want a Daytona and nothing else will do. I 1st saw the Top Banana in Jan when I bought my wifes Grand Caravan, and I told the Salesman it wouldn't be long until I would be back for the TB. Got it in March.

Welcome to the forum Don.
I live in northern MN but I have yet to drive my Daytona in the snow. I have no plans to. (I bought mine in January and didn't drive it much until May -- 'bout killed me!). I have heard the stock Michelin tires are so-so in the snow. New better winter rubber should make the Daytona the real deal in snow. Take a look at www.tirerack.com for tons of info about winter (or most any) tires. Lots of good stuff for you to know there.
Traction control, the advanced braking system, air bags, and being 4,100 pounds make the Daytona a tank of protection.
She might not have the absolute traction she had with the Durango, nor the room or the sitting up higher she probably came to love, but the Charger is comfortable, gets much better gas milage (I get 25 on the road), and is probably as long. You'll give up some taller hauling space, but the back seats fold down for a nice sized area for a day of shopping... plus it's a head turner and she'll have FUN driving it.
Like one of the posters once said, it has a high "smile per mile" ratio.
Enjoy the car!

Im sure it was the right thing to do. She hates the new Durango, and is not too fond of the Commander. We rented a commander on vacation and I thought it was so so. The Liberty is too small/underpowered. We only purchase Chrysler products, and she fell in love with the Red Daytona. And there are 2 4wd's to choose from if its bad out. I was always into having a headturning vehicle. The POwerwagon is flame red and tinted. When its clean it looks awesome. I have soccer moms telling me it's a "pretty" truck. I think the only other vehicle she would take is a New Challenger. Last I heard it will be an 09 coming out in early 08. So thanks for reaffirming my purchase!
