I was running with my boss late last week; exhaust running through the Borla 125, not getting very sporty with exelleration. 30 minutes into our cross town he asks me if I "get in it" I told him sure, but that I didn't want to scare him. His comment was something about not being scared or scared of getting scared.

Next stoplight I reached down, flipped off the esp, switched open the exhaust gates and smiled as he realized the immediate change of temperment of the beast. One foot brake, the other nudging the gas just as the light changed and stomped it. <winks at Marty> It just wagged its tail.. burning rubber and roared !! Foot off the brake and tore down the Blvd shifting manually through 3 before deciding 85 in a 45 was prolly pushing it.. Looking at the boss I just smiled and said, it's worth waiting 20 years for.. isn't it?

Chop the suitcase, don't chop the suitcase... nip the mufflers.. don't nip them.. Borla, Corsca, Magnaflow.. Suit yourself..

but believe me.. your not going to get the real sound of the monster.. until you can dump that exhaust to the ground with the electric cut outs. I've said it before.. best of all worlds.. quiet tuned exhaust when you want.. and the monster roar when it suits ya.

Last time I'll bring it up..

WOW what a response. Kinda across the board I might add...MNBOY..pulling fuses??? Cute. Yeah it is load and meaner sounding without the resonators but "quite" time driving is gone. No place for romance at that point. ...Its a shame you have to turn the radio up so loud to kill the road noise. For the record "dynomat" does not kill all the road noise.. I installed a trunk kit yesterday and it helped a little but not enough. I did it the right way. Took all the trunk carpeting/molding out and dynomatted all the surface area. It helped the woofers and rear deck speakers sound richer. Duhh that is what Dynomat is for. I just like the "less drone" noise. BUTTTTT...An exhaust switch to open it up??? Also a key fact, with the exhaust "hal" had learned not to bang out at high rpm. Without the exhaust, every time I hit the hi rpm he banged out. EVERY TIME. "Hal" would not re-learn. NOOO, I did not pull any fuses. Like mentioned by some, its a preference. One I like with the quite not the drone.

Daytona R/T,
I remember you posting about them months ago, but I thought it was a cheap, fly-by-night set up.
Wow. Looks impressive for quality. I think you are right about the best of both worlds. Oh, my mind is thinking about leaning out the fuel system, the engine needs certain back pressure, etc, etc, but for that little bit of fun, I think you have a great set up!
