Thier getting close to finishing the 6.1 stoker and then comes, YES, the 5.7.
Don't look at the price... gulp![sm=insomnia.gif]

For $9500 I don't think the stroker kit is worth it. Sure you will have a low 12second maybe high 11's charger but you can get there for less money. Heads, cam's, headers, cai, exhaust, tuning, a 125shot of nitrous and few other nessecery parts will get you there for about $5500.

They quote their prices as the "installed" price. So, I guess you take your car to them and they pull the engine, put in all the goodies and reinstall the engine? That's what it sounds like to me. Although it's a little rich for my blood, if I had the money it would be worth it to me to have someone else do it. They don't mention any kind of warranty (or did I miss that part).
I think I would be most concerned about the transmission living for very long. The engine sounds like it should be pretty bullit proof - time will tell. But it has been mentioned on here several times that the trannies in the 5.7s is only really good up toabout 425 hp? And they are talking 500 - 550? That's a pretty big jump. And who knows how much torq these things will put out. What about axels? Rear wheel hope due to the diff twisting. I'll bet there's more that will have to be done - even after spending $9300 for the engine.
Still....... it would be fun to say "Yeah, its got a Hemi. A 392 Hemi!" (or 426 if you have an SRT-8). Gee, I probably wouldn't need all these smoke bombs I have stored away

Yep, that's a total package for someone stock, installed and ready to drive off. It’s good to see someone on the bleeding edge leading the way.
They also have an upgraded for the tranny TCM, interesting…
By the time the dust settles on the build and parts are readily available my upper end will be done so all I need to look at is the lower end. Yanking that engine would be a task.

I would like to see a charger run high 11's to low 12's. Not going to happen without cutting half the car away. Weight is everything in the 1/4 and at 4700+lbs with the driver and fuel it isn't practical. Hight 11's would take 650+ hp Trans won't hold and the rear end would go bye bye. Not to mention a naturally aspirated engine isn't going to be streetable pushing those kind of numbers. Take 1000 lbs away and it is possible.
$9500.00 is insane IMO.

Your right Gomango#2968 the price is asinine, I don't think anyone here will argue that point.
Don't miss the bigger picture: These projects are kick a$$. They are paving the way for us to follow. Give it time; once these projects are done there will be a framework to follow. Over time the parts will become available at a reasonable price and those that can and will do the work it’s just a matter of getting the parts and installing them at a fraction of the cost posted above.

Charger in the 11's some one will.
Figure this stock engine should
See a 2sec faster 1/4mile time on NOS 125 shot adds more Tq
Now get steeper gears 1sec or faster More Tq
Get Tq management off/ESP that right there should shave 1/2sec in 1/4time this will eliminate lag time between shifts
Looking at mid to upper 11sec.
More Tq to move a solid mass from a dead stop to speed faster and easier followed by Hp to keep pulling the lug.
Oh yeah with more Tq going to need slicks to hook. And get going.

Gomango#2968 is absolutely correct. The Charger is not a 1/4 mile car. It is too heavy. It is Waaaaay to heavy. Why would you waste your time fighting a battle that need not be fought. If you want a faster quarter mile time, get a lighter car. You can't fight the laws of physics, and the Charger is one of the heaviest performance cars ever made. It is a great car, and has many superb qualities, but put a Stock Charger engine in a Mustang (1000lbs less) and you have a 12 second car. Put a Stock Charger engine in a Lotus Elise (2200lbs less) (with a shoe horn I guess) and you would have a 9 second car.
On the other hand the Charger has a fantastic suspension. why not try to autocross it instead? or road race it.
If you want a 1/4 mile car then buy one, something lighter with a big engine.
