A lot of folks have used shims that will move the O2 sensor away from the flow of stuff through the pipe. See this thread that should have everything you need to know on the shim.

hey remember i said something like my buddy left his stock exhaust on when he put mopar headers on?
eveyone who's seen it and here's it thinks it's sounds awsome. it's got great responce, breaks loose no problem esp on or off .

anywhy no ****tin sounds awsome.[sm=exactly.gif]
i dont think your losing anything by having them on.
oh yea the headers come with high flow cat's from mopar.
2 months with mine no lights[sm=signs007.gif]
and that drone someone here said it , yes it from the hollow trunk.

JUST SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT ON SOUND....
WHEN I BOUGHT MY DODGE PICKUP TRUCK I SOUNDED VERY TIN LIKE DO TO THE FACT THEY DONT UNDER COAT CARS ANY MORE.. THEN I HAD A RINO LINER SPRAYED IN THE BED... LIKE MAGIC THE NOISE WENT AWAY.
WHY NOT UNDER COAT WERE THE TRUNK AND SUIT CASE MUFFLER IS AS SOUND BUFFER IT MIGHT WORK.
JUST MY 2 CENTS

That's a great idea BOBLOM! Several folks w/Magies and Chargers have done this, especially at the rear half of the car where the noise resonates from.

Is that sound absorbing material or undercoating to help prevent rusting? I guess the undercoat would also do some sound absorbing but isn’t specifically designed for that purpose.

There is stuff out there that is for sound deadening, both spray or roll on. I bet the sound deadening stuff will also act as an undercoating.

Been there. Done that. It reduces the sound a little but the drone still comes through enough to give you a headache on a trip of any substantial length. Quiets the other road noises nicely though. Put the Borlas on (the 112 system with the rear resonators) and the drone went away. By the time you spend enough $$$ on sound proofing to accomplish the task, you could have bought a set of resonators and had them installed. Also, that sound insulation adds weight to an already heavy car.
