To all Charger owners that live in TX, How good did you car run on Sunday w/ the cool weather?
My ride was so responsive I was able to do long rear end slidding burn outs. I actually CHIRPED 2nd gear w/ one. My gal friend even too her for a ride and was frying the tires like she was making bacon! ha!

You saw that I did a 14.11 ET Friday night in Houston, what a difference between the 3500ft Density Alititude in September vs 460ft Density Alititude Friday night. Now I want to run some REAL 0-60 times on the SuperChips data logger....

It seems like the trick, is a 180 degree thermostat, coupled with an auxilliary cooling fan demand switch. Even if you put a 180 degree thermostat in, the electric fan will only kick on when the proper temperature is reached, my guess is ~212 degrees F.
When you are waiting in line to stage, you want your electric fan to run constantly to keep the engine as cool as possible. There are a number of temporary and permanent solutions for this problem already reviewed in the forums. People that have done this have experienced a suprising amount of premature electric fan failures. My idea would be to mount a fan in front of the radiator (between the radiator and the grill) that you could manually operate. The airflow direction would be reversed. It would draw air from within the engine compartment, and expel it through the grill. This would bring cool air in around the engine, thereby cooling down the engine externals as well. There would have to be an interlock to prevent it from operating when the primary fan is operating since the fans would be fighting one another. This would give you a better piece of mind that you have an alternate fan to run that does not impact the normal operation of the car. It would really only be used at the track, or while waiting to run.

I don't know what you got down to this morning in Austin but in Bushland west of Amarillo we were at 29 this morning and 33 yesterday. It ran great definately quicker. We'll be in San Antonio (yuck) this weekend it will be the cars first trip so i will let everyone know what mileage was. Lets see if it will beat my '06 megacab 4wd deisel, it got 22 down there and 24 on the way back with only a light tailwind so either way i'm not complaining. Whats bad is my deisel can keep up with my R/T and a few more mods and i'll beat the wife in hr R/T. Although she looks better than i do (the car and her). When we get our first snow i'll tell everyone how it handles. ( yes we get snow in Texas especially up here.) Any luck on removing speed limiter mine kicks in at 124 megacab 109 .

well the gs motorsports fan and esp mod that mango has installed might do the trick for you and as an added bonus you can kill the esp for racing its cost directly from gs motorsports is 199 plus shipping not bad either im on the fence about getting it hopfully mangointx will chime in and help me get divorced by talking me into spending another couple of hundred bucks

The GSM ESP/Fan mod does give you manual control of the fans. I'll take some pics (<=multiple pics) of the GSM hooks into the fuse box and other wires they tap.
There are some alternative cheap mods out there for rigging your own switch. Will need to glean information and post it up.

Even w/ this cool weather I sometimes get a knocking and pinging just as the car is warming up or stomping on it.
I wonder if the 180 thermostat will fix it? I can barely hear it but I know what I am listening for since the car does it much more when it is 95 plus out.
