just curious how much nitrus can I safely use on a stock motor. I know the LS1's are good to 700HP what about the HEMI's?

With the stock aluminum pistons I wouldn’t recommend anything above 100 shot.

I was thinking more like a 75 shot. Maybe thats the way to beat that srt8 and get better fuel milage then them too.

Trading in my wifes 02 Town and Country and given her the truck. I need better fuel millage since I started selling realestate and racking up the miles.

Um 342 horse with just some simple tuneing and mods ? Im bettin he has heads you know the kit and kabooodle, maybe you missed something like the 75hp shot of nos in the trunk.
Thats just what he told me. But now he is pushing close to stock SRT-8 numbers. With addition to performance heads and a mild cam. He told me he should be pushing around 370HP. Also said he is going to run a 50shot of nitrous so he can run high 12's all day.

why?....seriously its going to be hard to make up the differnace with the extra half liter of displacement wouldnt it make more sense to buy the srt8 to start with...think about it, it will cost more to start but its hard to sell a modded car becuase people know its been driven hard so your re-sale value suffers.....in the end it might be cheaper to buy the srt8 thean to buy the rt and mod it up to srt8 levels....just my two cents........also why make a drag car out of it......if you want a drag car there are alot better platforms than a new dodge charger...okay i said my peace and i wont say much more cause im still a noob on this particular forum...later

vnv727 - You make a good point. Not too many are going to want to look seriously at a modded car, unless it's in pristeen shape. However, I wonder what folks will think when looking at an SRT-8 also? Don't you think they would wonder if it had been driven hard, too? Really, though, if a person is going to do more than just a few simple bolt ons, they should be thinking of keeping the car a good long time, cause you can never, ever get your money out of any mods you do to it. There are some things you could do to an R/T or Daytona that are more subtle than NO2 or a super/turbo charger in that they would not be readily noticeable. Even a cam switch, heads, and headers, if done with a cam that would retain the MSD might not be that noticeable to a buyer looking to buy a modern muscle car. Sure, it might run like a scalded dog, but it still looks "stock" to the average "eye", and someone might just think it's one of those "rare" really good cars. Just some thoughts (got nothing else to do tonight ).

MSD is the main reason I don't want the SRT-8. I want decent fuel millage. Because of that reason I want to avoid cm heads and such. Headers and an exhaust system along with CAI and maybe a chip and I should improve Fuel millage and performance. A small shot of laughing gas when I want a little more and I'll have a pretty nice sleeper. That is far from a drag car, the 85 Monte in my garage can handle those needs.
