Very sweeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Any reccomendations for tuning?

I am really concerned w/ the Octane since the car still knocks and pings and the the tranny could shift harder.

I use 87 tune. For the difference in performance it wasn't worth paying for premium gas. I have no ping problems.

My has been pinging since I bought her home.

I uses a combo of super and mid grade from Exxon and Shell and she is just fine.

Sounds stupid but it works. The SuperCHips should get rid of that I hope.

They just switched us to "summer blend" here in Houston. It's $0.17 more per gallon and has a lower energy density. Its time to go to the track and get some $8.00/gal 106 to mix with it....

Try the Sport Shift program, the Performance shift is aggrivating for use anywhere but the track.

Agreed. The performance mode wants to hunt all the time for the right gear when driven on the street. Sport mode much much better.

Hey Guys:

Finally installed the SC. It's gravey. BUT, a couple of observations:

1. I tried Performance mode and shifting was a little weird. At WOT it seemed to really "gulp" the next gear. Yea, that's real descriptive, I know, but it was not the usual shift -- it was almost like a four speed.

1A. Sport mode is definitely the way to go, so thanks for that. I have noticed that without the rev limiter up, the car will shift a little too early in "D."

2. With the rev limiter raised, will this thing shift in "D" at 6250? Once I went past 6000 in "D" (performance option) it just seemed too much. It never shifted until I got out of it. AutoKick would have been on, but it sure didn't seem like it was going to kick....

3. I still had pinging even with 93 octane on the 91 setting. I poured in some octane boost and the condition has completely disappeared. Perhaps I have answered my own question, but is this an acceptable situation mechanically?

Anyway -- Thanks. So far, it's a pretty cool product. Sorry about all the questions.

.SG.

Armageddes - Yeah, the "Performance" mode shift is a little weird on the street. I have mine set at 91 Octane (I can tell a difference between 87 and 91), raised shift points - more on that later, traction controll off, and speed limiter set to 150.

I noticed when I first changed the shift points, that mine wouldn't shift until about 6250, too. However, after the last couple of updates I downloaded off the computer, it now shifts at about 6000, which seems just about perfect for my car. I can really feel it pull hard when it hits second gear now; not just a continuation of acceleration, but harder, much harder, acceleration. I have a little hesitation before it really pulls hard after shifting, but I need to put the "switch" in (cut into a wire under the center consol and install a switch to better turn off the ESP).

Sometimes I'll put in some 104+ octane booster and, it may all be in my head, but it does seem to give it a little "extra" something.

Marty, are you talking about the one that supposed to actually be for the SRT-8s? It makes it (the tranny) think it's an SRT-8?
