Super Chips Programmer
I just got mine in the mail yesterday will my SLP Loud Mouth 2 exhaustand headers. I am goin gto wait to programmer her until the headers and cat back and 180 thermo installed.Then I will be able to tell you all the difference the SC makes. I plan on dropping the car off to the exhaust guy on Sat.( cant freaking wait!!!!!) My girl friend thinks I am nutz but she has no clue.
How do I switch the shift points? Is that done when using one of the tranny mode options or does the SC programmer give you the ability goto change shift point numbers?

SC will give you the option of "raising shift points". That's it. You can't tell it where you want the shift points to be. Mine, set at the "Sport" mode and raising shift point (answer "yes") shifts at about 6000.

Sorry, shift points are part of a package. Either Sport shifting, or Performance shifting may be selected. Don't waste your time with the performance shifting, it will only **** you off. The engine rev limitercan be raised, but it only applies to manual shifting.
You will enjoy the sport shifting over the factory settings. But remember, due to DCX safegaurds, all of the settings seems to fade over time. Also keep in mind that there are a finite amount of times that a car computer can be flashed. If you listen to the Suburu WRX guys, who seem to do it more than others, the total number of times is about 100. Don't waste your precious flashes on too much playing with settings.

The reference to the total number of times you can flash is referring to the flashing the chip not the programmer doing the flashing.
Not that I've seen it but it wouldn't surprise me if a chip will fail to flash after a certain number of flashes. Evidently someone kept count on the WRX and the number of flashes it took to "kill" one of their chips. I'm sure that number was an average and not ahard fast number.

So -- that can be a problem (limited flashes) particularly since the manual states that some service visits to the dealership may include routine updates, updates that if done while the car is "programmed" to anything other than stock will render your SC worthless. How PO'd would that make you?
So-- if you have to return your vehicle to stock for an oil change, it's two flashes (stock and then back) going every 3 months or so for service (8 flashes per year) you have 10 years of flashes with an extra 2 flashes per year during that same period before you have to buy a new ECM. It looks like I'm safe.
