Default 1975 D100 Transmission Question

Hello first time doing this forum thing,
I need some help with a transmission question. I have a 1975 dodge D100 truck, 318 v8, 3 on the tree best thing its got is PS. She has been good to me but the 3 speed is screaming in all gears and is becoming hard to shift. I worry its just a mater of time before it dies out on me. I was looking for a replacement to swap in as I don’t have tons of money. Was looking to find some information on what the transmission in my tuck is and if there are any upgraded types of manuals that are more or less just a easy swap from the stock 3 speed.
Thanks

Any swap from this era is fairly simple. If i was you, I'd find a 4 spd truck, cut a hole in the floor, and you will never have to replace it again. Those granny gear 4 speed np435's are bulletproof.

OK well thats good news ....Will need a new bell housing , flywheel clutch and drive shaft? I found a donner truck with the 12 bolt I need. It also has a 4 speed but I get charged for each part so don't want to take anything I don't need.

thanks again

check out converting to a 727 automatic trans. if you are not in steep hills, you will like the automatic. but a few thinks to change, like a cooler for the trans
