According to Edelbrock I just need to ground the female connector, an hook the other one up to any ignition activated 12v source
Female connector? The two terminals on the black choke coil one should be ground and the other 12V+ whenever the ignition is on. I imagine this is the default setting for both choke engagement and high idle. You need to adjust both of these until you get it where it works correctly. I have tons of experience with Holley carbs and it looks like Edlebrock is not to much different. The three screws on the side of the black choke coil need to be loosened so you can turn it. One way will engage the choke more where the other direction will be less. You should do this when the engine is cold then adjust accordingly. If your accelerator pump is working (and adjusted) along with the choke/high idle two(three in cold weather) 1/4 throttle pumps of the peddle should be all you need. This may help even though it's for a Holley.

Thanks guys!

Yuuup...choke, mixture, idle and fast idle was not set correctly. Easy to start now in 15f
No clue about that sensor, the choke closes when cold and opens up as the engine heats up...looks like it`s all good.

another problem popped up....of course
Had to clean and sand battery terminals, connectors, ground points and so on to get power to the starter today.
...now i read 16,8v on the battery during idle after cleanup and tightening up all belts some more.
Regulator is new. With the old one i had over 18v on the battery during idle.

I read 15v max on the cigarette lighter socket in the dash.
15 is safe, but 16,8?? Neeh
Blower motor speeds up and lights are brighter with a little more RPM than idle.

Oh, and another thing:

The dashboard volt gauge is at zero and only moves up just a little bit, if blower motor and lights are off.
The thing is...the volt gauge plastic window is so hot i can`t touch it for more than a second, and i can smell burnt plastic.

Short in the volt gauge. Pull it apart, and see what ya got.

Verify the regulator wiring. It shouldn't be cranking that much voltage, gotta be mis-wired, or there is a short somewhere. Should see less than 15 volts at the battery, engine idling.

Happy new year!

Just got back from a 180mile trip with the ol’ dodge...no issues what so ever, although it went through a gallon of motor oil, a ****load of 95 octane and 10 or so 20amp fuses

12.4 mpg with speeds between 55 - 65
14 mpg with speeds between 45 - 55

Not bad for an old 360 with 350lb cargo on the bed and 11 inch wide snow tires

I think it might be moisture behind the dashboard somewhere, somehow...
noticed tiny drops of moisture in the speedometer and now it’s slowly spreading to the other gauges.

im guessing a bad seal on the windshield, or that i’m just dragging to much rain and snow on to the carpet and mat.

gonna try a moisture-collector-thingy and see if that helps
