Unhappy 73 Superior 2000 motor home

Hey everyone ,It's been a while since I've been on here, just consistently busy. I've had a new problem develop. As you can see in the title it's a 79 Superior 2000 it has a Dodge 318 in it and I have developed a exhaust leak at the drivers side manifold right at where the exhaust pipe mounts to it. Here is the strange part, there is no type of gasket in between the pipe and bottom of the manifold. The bottom of the manifold has round donut shape on it and the pipe is just crammed up on it, with 2 flanges bolting it together. I remember a lot of the old cars and trucks used to have a donut gasket that went in between that mounting but I can't find any information about this one. Has anyone ever heard of this type of connecting system? Or is there a special type of gasket I need. By the way the whole exhaust has been replaced from the manifold back and it is held on the manifold by 2 ovel shape flanges with 2 bolts and nuts. I would love to go to a set of short headers if I could find some. ANY ideas are welcome?

There won't be a gasket, you might be able to just tighten the bolts to get it to seal up..... They really like to rust and break though.....

Unless the surfaces are rusty. Then you need to clean them smooth.

Thanks for the info, I've never run across a system like this before, so wanted to reach out. Actually thinking about putting some headers on, (wish list )
