Yeah thats true. Dam cops and their radar guns. I hear that where I live there putting up speed cameras in the red light cameras too. So you run the light, and get a ticket , ain't that wonderful

I've received many speeding tickets with and without radar detectors. I have to keep reminding myself to only be the second fastest on the highway. Follow the fastest driver about a 1/2 mile back. My detector will go off when he gets nailed giving me time to slow down. I lived in Germany for 15 years and it is so hard to stay awake at U.S. highway speeds with no more traffic than we have.

I guess its kinda like a hit and miss when it comes to radar detectors. Cops will always be 1 step ahead. Thanks for all the insight guys

I kinda give up on them now. I'd rather just not take the chance. I don't want to spend 600 on a "good" one and find out later then I get a ticket, even while using it. Thanks guys

I have a cheapo one that I bought from woot. I does have quite a few false alarms, but you learn those quickly. Its actually kind of funny, before i got the thing i could have sworn the cops were following me, now that i have it i almost never see cops. But the cops that are using radar it does find. I dont know about your area but here in Sacramento we have cops that look for speeders from the air, and most radars dont protect from that. Also a cop can catch you speeding if he matches your speed then pulls you over. This "could" be fought since there really is no proof of your speed.
