I've got a club cab 4x4 4.7 w/ 5speed auto, and I think it's great. Enough torque to keep me happy day to day, drives comfortably, does well in the dirt (the mild stuff it's seen so far) and as of the last two weeks, I can say it does well in the snow.

My only complaint so far is I bought an SLT, and they put a wood trim piece around the stereo and HVAC controls, and it looks kinda dumb. The base model has a black plastic piece. Eventually, I'll replace it with the black plastic piece.

got an 05 SLT quad very nice. went from a new 01 durango to this. durango was a little more tricked out SLT but the power/handling/brakes/shocks in the dakota is a huge advancement. very nice ride and my payments are less!!!! so is the insurance!!! I'm 100% happy with it.

I like my truck a lot. The ride and handling are way beyond my expectations for a pickup. I'm amazed how good traction it has in 2wd mode on ice and snow (way better than my car) and this is even on Bad Day, er I mean Goodyear tires. And then I can click in 4-Hi and get to places where I really shouldn't be going in the snow. The 4.7L and 5-45RFE work together darned well. The tranny almost always does what I want it to do, none of the stupid "let's lug the engine in OD at 900 RPM and 30 mph" that Fords seem to enjoy doing. The power seems to be about right, never mind Motor Trend and Four Wheeler's whining.

Narcisse91, you might like the trim piece from the Laramie (and I think SLT sport pkg too), it's a satiny silver piece.

I'm pretty sure I have the sport package (more body color trim, right?). I have seen pictures of the silver trim, but was never able to figure out where it came from. I'll have to find a Laramie and take a look at it.

I've had my Dakota for a week and I like it! I plan on changing the woodgrain. I'm looking for a real CAI.

So far I like it alot better than my 01....I would definately recommend the AWD if youre getting a 4x4....makes it alot easier to drive once you hit dry pavement...
