Default Replaced TPS and still having issues....

Good Day,

My 1990 Dakota LE 3.9 V6 is having symptoms of a bad TPS, but I already replaced it twice. The strange thing about this whole situation is the truck runs fine around town, but as soon as I get it up to highway speeds for 10 miles or so - the hesitation and stalling occurs.

To confuse things even more - if I disconnect the battery overnight the truck will once again run fine for a little while or until another run on the highway.

I am at a loss to what could be causing the problems and no one around here can seem to help.

Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

do you have a check engine light?

What are all of the symptoms that you are having?

I figure that the reason why it works well after a battery disconnect is that your computer "forgets" things.

I did the on-off-on-off-on and got two codes.

12 - battery disconnect ( I knew this one was going to show)

and

31 - EVAP Solenoid

Not sure if this would cause the stalling issue and I am kind of surprised I got this as I just had an inspection and emissions test and it passed with flying colors.

I am going to inspect the system myself today to see if I can find any cracks or leaks.

Thanks!
