Dodge Dakota The tough, mid size pickup, the Dodge Dakota. The Dodge Dakota has everything the big boys do with a mid size truck price.

Dakota Production Ends... But is it the End of an Era?

I can see why Dodge dropped the Dakota. A 1/2 ton Ram with a hemi gets better mpg, more power, more towing capacity, better ride with the coil setup in the back, more cab room....... The Dakota while still in the "small truck" segment is not that much smaller than 1/2ton Ram. Really wish I could have talked the wife into a 1/2ton Ram with a Hemi but she really didn't wan't that "big truck" image. Especially with the "Hemi" badge plastered on the side.

Too bad they didn't drop the new Pentastar motor into the Dakota with a turbo option. That would have been cool!

That's rough, I love my Dakota and im still going to keep it going strong and well maintained no matter what but Clayh does make a point. Guess we will see what happens in the long run!

My only knock on the Dakota is that it was getting too big.
