repaint and reupholster
I'm looking to both repaint and reupholster my 88 daytona. Since I'm going through the trouble I figured I might as well go ahead and do a custom job and get racing stipes with the upholstery to match. Can anyone tell me how much either would cost (just a ballpark estimate is fine)?
It is dependent upon the quality you want. If you want a cherry paint job you are looking at 2-3 g's. If you want a hick style ghetto rigged pain job then probably under 1500. If you aren't changing the overall color it won't be as much. However, if you choose a new color you will want the engine bay and inside door panels painted too. Also, you will want some body work done while you're at it (dings, dents, any other blemishes). This all means more $$$. A reupholster to the seats will cost anywhere from 100-1K. If you want some cheap fabric, 100. If you want leather, closer to 1K. Midgrade is somewhere in between. It all depends on your budget. If you want it done up right, expect to burn some holes in your pockets.
Thanks, thats kinda what I thought but wasn't too sure. My plans as of now are blue with white stripes and a blue upholstery. I would have no problem leaving the upholstery except for the fact that its maroon...they don't really look that great together.
The other thing to keep in mind if you want to completely change your interior is that the steering wheel, the dash, etc. need to be changed too which is a pain in the butt.
I'm trying to figure out what to do with my maroon interior also...

You must be talking about a complete restoration, that is definately not for the faint of heart. I don't have it in me to gut a dashboard like that. I think seats and carpet is as far as I'll go on that one.
Good point...I guess I might just have to get used to telling people that its a dark red/maroon...not purple...lol.

Here is some more information on repainting and how to choose a bodyshop. This will definately come in handy. In fact, it will be the same guide I will use if I repaint mine. Thoroughly read this when you get the chance. Here's the website.
