Hi, i just bought an 88 daytona shelby z... uh quick question..

first off is my only major problem with the car, my accelleration ..well sucks.. I mean its got a delay, almost like it is running on only a couple cylenders, or like the throttle is messed up, uh im tryin to think of ways to describe it..i step on the gas it chugs a lil then eventually catches up.. now when i get it in gear and try and get going.. accelleration is almost non existant... Someone said they had similar problems and then they replaced the distrib.. and it fixed it? I have no idea.

Even without a turbo, it shouldn't be that bad should it? Idk.

the turbo being shot could cause my deadspots in accell?... and its real selective too..sometimes i can get in first and take off good.. other times im in first gear for ever, can get to around 45 mph and not even need to shift.. then when i do.. the rest of the gears are the same.

Do you have a boost gauge? Does it register any boost? Can you hear the turbo spool up?

Do a compression test on the cylinders? Each one should be @ 120.
Replace spark plugs?
