RE: How mnay daytona owners here?? ROLL CALL!!
This doesn't exactly sound like a "Roll Call" anymore people.... sheeeesh..... anyways..... I had a 1991 Daytona auto,.... long winded, but slow, and I ended up selling for like $250. because the motor knocked.... I just recently got a 1990 Daytona ES w/ the turbo and manual.... i bought it to play with as a kind of project.... the lights don't work (have thread about it actually) and the speedo is not functioning, OH and it needs paint, but i only paid $70. so i guess its all good in the end.....

$70, yeah I'd say that it was worth it. I've never even come close to getting a car for $70, except for a '73 Challenger I almost got for $300, but he never got back in touch with me until it was gone.[sm=smiley19.gif][sm=smiley35.gif][sm=smiley7.gif]

VNT = Variable Nozzle Turbo
It has an fluctuating wastegate that regulates the amount of exhaust that enters the turbine. Very efficient idea (Zero "0" turbo lag) but very temperamental at times.

just pick up a 1987 dodge daytona shelby z for a $100, got it for cheap cause the head gasket was possibly blown. turns out that head gasket was bad but wasn't the main problem. after taking the head of i relized that the turbo is shot. and i am not sure what i am going to do.
Any one got any suggestion on how to go about doing this. not sure if to build it up or just to get it running again with replacement parts.

when you say save the turbo as a core do you mean just replace the internals and use the outer shell? or get another turbo and turn that one in to them?
Since i have it all a part would it be worth to put a bigger turbo in and do some work to the intake man. and the exh. man. to get more performance out of it. is there anything else that would be worth replacing or modifing while it is apart?
one more thing does the dayton run a narrow band o2 sensor or a wide band o2 sensor?

Turn your old one in when you purchase the new one.
Since it's apart, if you got the money and time, I would definately upgrade everything that I could. Here are some links to Forward Motion:
Intake & Exhaust Manifolds
Turbochargers
Forward Motion
I have no idea which type O2 sensor is in it.
