[&o]Well I have tried a new tank of 92 octane with injector cleaner and the problem is still there. I can ease up to six grand and about 13 psi of boost but i cant stand on it without it cutting out and bucking.Very frustrating because the power seems to be there but it wont let me use all of it. i can go about 1/4 of the pedal and fly like mad, but I want it all. Any more ideas to try? I cleaned it up today and installed a new dash mod that looks pretty cool, but I wish i knew what was causing my loss of power.
sadly

Not sure if you solved you problem yet or not but what plug are you running? I had BOSCH plugs in my GLH for a while and I started haveing the same exact problems as your experiancing. The power felt like it was there, but when I would drop the hammer on it, the car would stumble, spit and sputter until I backed off of the throttle. I come to find out that these cars are very finicky when it comes to plugs. I installed stock spec Champion plugs (can't remember the plug# but I can find out if you want) and it has been running like a raped ape ever since.
Hope this helps...
I have 2 daytona's I have a 87 daytona shelby Z and a 89 daytona shelby Z with a 2.2 turbo II. the 89 runs great and it is leaving everyone in the dust where I live I mean noone can keep up with it. My freind has a 97 Z 24 and he can't touch the car. and the 5.0 mustangs have some trouble beating it sometimes that car is just a great car. the 87 it needs a wireing harnest but if any wants to buy it and fix it let me I would like to get 700 out of it but if someone wants it let me know on here and I will get in contact with you.
All Cavaliers, Z24's included, are rolling turds that couldn't pass a broken down Gremlin. Besides, the last Z24's were nothing but a badge on the side of the car. I had an '87 and an '88 Shelby Z, both with the 2.2L Turbo II and the Z24 isn't even on the same planet as the Shelby Z's, they are more on the level of a normally aspirated Daytona and not a turbocharged one.

Hey Amanda, How's the Daytona doing lately?? Does it have a pulse yet??[sm=smiley27.gif]
I don't have a garage... so she's under a car cover now.
None of the problems that I was told it was, is the actual problem, so I'm SOL at the moment. I'm buying a house, so she's waiting for warmer weather. How's yours?

Are you still tracking down the top end noise, or is it something else that your referring to??
I finally picked up the blue Z in Oct. I have it parked at my Dad's garage for now. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. I have WAY too may irons in the fire right now to start a project. Come to think of it I have to many damn cars period... On the upside, my Shadow ESX seems to be coming together well at this point. Hoping to light the fires by late winter early spring....

We think it's a bent valve spring now... it's a major PITA... I knew it wasn't going to be easy, but I sure would like to drive the car once... can't do that until it's all fixed though. It's okay... she'll get there. I just wish I had some extra help... someone who really knows these cars to help me out. LOL!
