Jacking car up bends leaf springs
Today I got a flat tire on my 2006 Dakota
I placed my jack under the frame just forward of the rear wheel.
As I was jacking the car up the wheel was not coming off the ground and I noticed the leaf springs bending pretty good and the gap between the wheel arch and the wheel was quite large.
I was almost out of travel on my jack.
I let it down and decided to jack it under the rear axle and was able to get the wheel of the ground no problem.
Would this indicate the rear shocks are bad? The leaf springs look okay.
Thanks

That's normal. The suspension is doing what it is supposed to do.
For your Dakota, you really want to post in the Dakota section..... This is the Daytona section. Not even remotely similar to your truck.
