It all depends on the version of the car. A regular Daytona is actually very light, but the Shelby Z version is far heavier by several hundred pounds, mostly from all the power toys especially the drivers super God-like adjustable seat.[]

Yeh, in 89 didnt they make the car like ALOT heavier then the previous years?

They could have. I know that the factory ground effects became bulkier. I think they might have also added more sound deadening material as well as options.

my 87 lost about 40 to 50 pounds by pulling out all of the sound deadening matreial . that stuff was every where it just about cover ever inch of the interior. and i have no power seat just power windows and locks. so i am not wiegh down to bad from that stuff. it was no ac stuf in it so there was another 20 to 30 pounds. she on her diet she slowly getting lighter.
