Default My HEMI has a pet Cricket?

Well, just noticed last nite at the ATM that my engine has developed a squeek of some sort. it sounds like a cricket chirping, or maybe a mouse on a wheel.

Pretty sure it hasn't always made the noise as i've been thru the ATM before and didn't notice it.

One i got home i popped the hood and basically came to the conclusion that the sound is coming from the passenger side, rear and underneath the engine.....

Any clue?

EDIT: oddly enough i've come up with this as well:

Maybe you have a cricket? J/k, sorry, no clue.

I once bought an '84 Vette from a guy that lived in the mountains... was driving it the next day with a female and all of a sudden she starts screaming and freaking out, so I pull off the highway, she jumps out, I come over to her side and there are what look like 3 tiny baby piglets or possums or something. Never quite figured out what they were or where they came from... guessing some animal got in there and had a litter.

There is no belt behind the engine though.

didn't claim it to be coming from a belt.

I know, but that other thread was about squeaking belts right?

I still think there's a cricket hanging out behind your engine. He must just like the warmth...

Some of the older HEMIs had a lifter "tick". Do that seems to be a possibility? Does the sound change tone or pick up speed with RPM? Load the engine, change RPM, let's rule out or in the engine itself.

no, it's definately more of a squeek don't really know how else to describe it besides the pitch raises and lowers like a cricket.

sounds like somthing is spinning and at 1 point in the revolution hits the squeeky point then falls back off.

you can't hear it when in the cab, but once you get out of the truck with the engine running you can hear it for sure. then if you are in a garage or up against a wall, it really prominent.

Still doing some research on this topic here and there until i go in for my first oil change and have the dealer investigate.

I did however come across the famous "Hemi Tick"

Is the hemi tick the sound i'm referring to?

Anyone else get out of their truck and have a listen lately?
