Hey everyone! Just got my 09 Black Big Horn. Was wondering if anyone has installed any mufflers on their Rams. I'm looking into the Mufflex DOD14M. Anyone got any input on that? Pricing? Maybe a better brand? What do you all think?

 

the pricing is on their website, and i have the 18" and it sounds good but it could be louder so if you like loud trucks get the flowmaster 40 like bigred or get the 14"

There have been lots of posts and discussions about mufflers already on this forum.

You can pick up a magnaflow and have a shop install it for less than the Mufflex with the same effect.

 

14'' mufflex on mine.......$256 to the door from mufflex.

 

You gotta know someone at the shop to bend the pipes to fit like they do. Muffler alone would be 200 bucks.

 

like blackzilla said...about ~250 shipped to your door. I paid about the same on ebay for my 14" mufflex and installation took about 30min. And oh yea ...it sounds AWESOME

 

I'm not trying to hijack this thread, i just didn't want to make a new one since we were on the topic of Mufflex systems. Has anyone put the 24" on their 09 yet? I like loud but my truck is a family ride and I don't want alot of cab noise. I just want to deepen the exhaust sound and make it sound better. I thought about the 18" but i don't want it to be too loud once it burns in. Thanks

 

We at Mufflex offer the kit in 3 varieties depending on you taste for sound;
#1 DOD14M = Aggressive. #2 DOD18M = Moderate. #3 DOD24M = Mellow.

Unknown FM, but sounds like a 40 or 44, that is not a 50.

Based on stock I would not go with anything less than the 14 from Mufflex, may as well stay stock.

By the way, the color on the first truck is VERY nice....

 

I'm trying to decide between the Mufflex system and Flowmaster 50 HD. I like the Magnaflow sound because it's somewhat different. It seems everyone around here has some sort of Flowmaster system. But they do sound nice.
