Weather got cold and now my tailgate will not unlock. Hard to tell if it is the power solenoid or the latch itself. Can't be unlocked with the fob or with a key, it just won't turn far enough. Hoping that as it sits in the sun that it will un freeze whatever has happened.

 

Might want to try spraying with a warm can of wd-40. Sometimes this will work. It is good at displacing moisture.

After work it was back to working fine. Hopefully this won't be an on-going problem when the temp drops below freezing.

 

The gate will not unlock with the FOB, that is unless you put on a "special" add on you can get at the dealer.

I got it for Fathers day from my wife, but it costs about $120 and took me an hour or 2 so to install.

That will be the difference between the Pace Edwards and the original, the pace lock is way up under water never gets near it the handle is what gets locked so even if we have a lock or not the latch could freeze. Mine opens with the fob, you just tap into either the drivers of passenger door lock wires. Simple as pie, even supply 2 relays to make it all tidy and Dodge can't say anything wrong with the wiring.
