Default Just how much better is the Hemi over the 4.7

im on a budget and i found a TRX truck i love.. but it has the 4.7 in it..
its an 09 TRX for 25k Crew Cab with the center console with shifter

really im not going to tow anything..if i did it would be a small trailer.. something my freakin cobalt could tow..

hauling would at max be something as heavy as a fridge

I also found a 09 SLT Quad Cab with the Hemi also has the center console with shifter for 21k how much room do you loose.. kids will have room wither way but what about adults.. i as the driver will have my seat all the way back

Drive the two and pick. Everyone will have an opinion, but yours is what matters here.

MPG, not enough to worry about.

To be hoest, the hemi is half the reason i bought my 4gen ram, it smokes nearly evey other pickup off the line, it depneds how you drive. I personally have an extreamly HEAVY foot, and love having that power there, just my personal thoughts. the handling and ride quality will be there no matter what engine you go with, so you cant make a wrong decision. One last thought, resale might be higher in the long run with the hemi, and you never know what you may need to tow in the future

I love the Hemi and the power it has, but i've never driven the 4.7 Ram either. I can tell you that i wish I bought the crew cab over the quad cab. Your kids will have no problem with back seat space but if you like your sat back the you will have to move it forward a little for full size adults.

my crew cab has seen its fair share of adults in the back seat with no problem due to my 6'7'' frame. my seat is all the way back and tilted back slightly. I have yet had any of the guys say to slide it forward and we have had some decent trips to games. Your kids will grow up you'll need the room, the only loss of space will be in the bed.

I have owned both of these style trucks, basically. My first 4th Gen Ram was a 2009 2wd 4.7 with the Quad cab and I now own a 2010 4wd Hemi with the Crew Cab. Both have the 3.92 gear ratio. The Quad cab was okay for the kid's but was small for an adult, the Crew cab is great for Kid's and good for adult's. The 4.7 has ton's of power and you will not be disappointed. However if you are like me and when you pull up to another 4th Gen Ram you look for the Hemi badge. Then you may want to just get the Hemi. The Hemi IMHO is alot stronger, faster and just changes the entire feel of the truck there is power everywhere. If you are a truely sensible person and you could care less what size engine you have then get the TRX it comes with some cool option's and the 3.92 gear's plus in your case a Crew Cab.
