Default Offroad Lights on my 09

So I'm on the verge of buying a smittybilt light bar and mounting 4 lights on my truck. After a day of research I'm thinking about going with a set(2) of KC Rally 800's long range in the middle and then mounting KC daylighters on the outside. All 4 stainless steel and both 130 watt. Does anyone have any experience with these lights? Also, I was wondering if the alternator and battery can handle these 4 lights with ease(09 ram 1500 all stock) or will I have to think about making some upgrades? thanks for any info,
redliner

Might take a look at the LightForce lights too if you haven't already. Lots of output and pretty good prices. I installed two on my truck and haven't had any electrical issues reguarding power consumption.

If you have HIDs on your truck and would like to keep that hid look there's these hid offroad lights you can get on ebay. I did some research online and heard alot of good things on them, especially on jeep forums and offroad people. They pretty much all had KC lites and all those good brands and said once they put these in it was night and day, the hid would over power their KCs. They are fairly cheap price wise considering they are hid and the ballast is all internal.

I have 2 6" lights that i will mount to my bullbar, haven't got a chance yet, but the lights look really good quality, and you can easily change bulb if it ever goes, it's an H3 i believe. You can take a look at them, i got the 6" from this seller on ebay but they are a little harder to get. The most common one's are 7" and 4". They are all black with a red ring that says HID on them. Here is a link to a random seller on ebay, but this is what they look like, you can pretty much get them from the states.

Here's the link to the jeep guys and there are some pictures in there you can see.

And here is the link to a random ebay seller, these are what the lights look like.

Ya I was looking at the lightforces, I like those alot but the price seemed to be a bit out of my range from what I saw. Interpunx, thanks for the link. Those ebay lights look like pretty decent lights too. Now you've got me debating whether to go with the KC's or a set of these. I see the ebay ones are only 35 Watts. I know they are HIDS which makes them better than regular lights, but I wonder how they would compare to the 130W KC's in brightness? DVSk8er how do you like your smittybilt light bar?

Well I would say HIDs are much brighter then halogen, even if it's 130 W it wouldn't be comparable. Just like the headlights on our truck they are 55W but then you can put a 35W HID kit in your truck and the light is not even comparable.

Here are a few pictures of some owners that have them and what they say about them

"Ok so here are the 4 Hids on the light bar all lit up..
Wow these things are bright make my KC's look like yellow flickering candles. Oh and they are 4" er's. I am well pleased with these and rated at 35W"

The biggest proof that the Kragen HIDs rock came last night on my way home. I left the ranch at 7:30 and had a 2.5 hour drive ahead of me. The HIDs light the highway FOREVER! The reflectors are visible as far as you can see and deer were easily spotted well in advance, their beady little eyes reflect in the darkness. the biggest surprise was when I had to dim my lights, I was not sure my headlights were working.

They are really amazing the amount of light they cast. I always thought the IPF's were bright but they can't compare. I mounted the IPF's temporarily to my upper tube and when I turn them on after the HID's you can barely even tell they are on.
I have them...they work amazing! used to have KC daylighters and these things are like night and day. I can turn off my headlights and turn them back on and I dont see a difference, the HIDs over power my silverstar ultras.

Yea, they are ridiculously bright... try turning them on while on the road, the street signs get so bright from the reflection you won't be able to see anything!

Looks good interpunx but could you post a side shot of how the bull bar looks. It gives me an option of installing HID's without touching the stock headlights.

Never mind found your pictures on the other post.

I don't know for 100% that it's true, but I was told that the Daylighters are imported and the company that makes it also sells to a number of other companies. I bought two sets of Dick Cepek 130 watt lights in stainless steel that were less than half the price of the Daylighters and having installed the KCs before, I would tend to believe that is true. I can't tell a difference in any of the components. Daylighter accessories even fit them just fine.

Besides the Cepeks, I've seen Hella Optilux 1900s and they also appear to be this light. They are all even offered in the same choice of chrome or stainless steel. Also seen some no-names that appear to be the same light.

KC straight off of their website:

My Cepeks:

Not the absolute best lights you can buy, but for what some of these sell for (I paid $59 a pair for mine) they are a damn good light for the money...
