Default Recall: For 1500 4x4 tie-rods...??? WHAT..???

I just got a recall notice in the mail over the weekend to replace the tie-rods on my 1500..???
I thought just the 2500 trucks were the only ones getting this recall (???)
Anyone else get this recall for their 1500 4x4 hemi quad cab trucks..???

Yes quite a bit of people had the recall. My 09 1500 just went in for the recall...

Had mine done. It is totally painless. Just have it done, it is free. Nothing to worry about.

Ummm.... You JUST got it? This has been out for a while now. Or has it now gone out to ALL 1500 owners, including the non snow belt ones?
Your info does not say what state you are in.
I figured it might go out to everyone after the snow folk got taken care of.

no notice on my '09 2wd, yesterday when I did the oil change, I inspected them. They look OK but they do have a twist that makes me wonder. The twist make the rubber boots look squeezed on one side. I'm in California so maybe they are rolling it out slowly to manage cash flow. Another trick i tried with the oil change, when removing the oil filter, I loosened the filter first, then I used a quart size freezer bag and slipped it over the filter and then removed it. I was able to get the filter off without any spillage.

They only issued the recall in snowbound states - some sort of corrosion issue from the joints sucking in water (from snow cover I assume)

The recall is for "cold weather states" only, so California probably isn't included. I know Georgia isn't included, but we DO get ice, snow, and freezing temperatures, especially in the North Georgia mountains, where we like to spend time. So, I have a pair of Moog tie rod ends I'm installing MYSELF !?!?! Can't say I agree with the recall procedure, especially on such a critical component.

Probabally not 6 months a year worth. I've got 52K on my truck with no TRE issues, so I wouldn't worry a whole lot about it.
