Dodge tech on mds vibration.
Just took my truck in to explain my vibration and growl at 45 mph. The tech tells me he has heard of no problems and doesnt know what im talking about. Said he needs my truck a day or two to scan it and see what the deal is. But he wouldnt just get in and go for a ride with me so i can show him. Im insulted. He acted like i was an idiot. I have a hard time believing no one else in wichita has had the same problem. And there is alot of new Rams around. Maybe i have a lemon.
Anyways, i can already see they are going to say everything is fine. Im very frustrated. Truck only has 22,000 miles on it. Im probably goin to say screw it, and just trade it off rather then taking it to the dealer 20 times and waste my time and minutes of my life on a company that wont back there product.

Right about the same mileage and MPH that my truck had that vibration. I know a lot of them it is the MDS. However mine was the crappy tires they put on the new trucks. My Goodyears developed a slight scalloping of the tires which caused it to rumble right at about 45 mph. Which where I live is the normal speed limit. (Lots of woods and twisty roads etc.) Changed my tires...No more vibration. Smooth as butter for the last 10,000 miles.
Just take a look at them and see if they are wearing properly. If so most likey the MDS. Just throwing this out there for you to look into as well.

i have the same thing its 35 and 55 but only at around 1450 to 1500 rpms i talked to my dealer service department and they said they werent aware of a problem and its just where you are kicking 4 cylinders of power off. feels to me like the mds wanting to turn off but stays in economy mode even when power is needed.

Anyhow, tell your dealer they are full of sh*t...!!! Here is the proof...!!!!!
Copy the picture and print it out, go to dealer, stick it in their face..!!!!!
See if they play stupid with you again. My bet is they`ll say, "oh we didnt know about that". <BULLSH*T.!
One of 2 things, they`re either lying, or they`re VERY POORLY TRAINED about their product....!!!!!
I also bet, that chrysler dosent want alot of people to know about this either...! (it`ll cost them..!)
Every dealership got this letter, so they are VERY aware ther IS a problem, and KNOW how to fix it.

Every one of these 4th gen trucks has this very rattling/vibration problem, some are just worse than others.
Some people dont even realize they actually have a problem until someone shows them what it is.
It is a torque convertor issue, "Case #1121000005" fix`s the problem.
Supposidly this special new torque convertor is now available.
My own opinion, i hope it DOES fix it, because i will NOT buy another dodge truck until this problem is 100% cured...!
This is really lame for chrylser to send these trucks out like this and let it go on for as long as they have.
This is NOT what i call quality control...!!! They HYPE`D up these new dodge`s, now they should step and fix them..!
My guess is, they`ll NEVER recall these trucks for this vibration problem, but squeaky wheels get the grease so to speak...!
They`ll most likely wait until someone dies in a crash due to a transmission blowing apart while driving down the highways.
Bet they`ll step up real fast after that huhhhh...!!!!
My next problem, do they have ANYONE smart eough to install these new torque convertors PROPERLY...??? Probably not...!
These wanna be mechanics will not re-torque anything to spec, and leave out a few bolts here and there.
They`ll just blow it in, then ram it out. They dont give two sh*ts about you OR your truck...!
Next thing you know, you got parts and pieces falling off your truck.
Nothing will be put back on properly at all...!!!!!
Nough said...! ...and good luck guyz...! Hope this helps...!
