Default Damaged key message

Yesterday 09 ram Tex CC wouldn't start. I'm stuck at boat launch for 2you hours waiting for tow truck. Kept trying key fob, kept getting damaged key message. Finally I turned fob and truck starts. This morning no start and same message. An hour ago truck started. Any ideas of problem? I don't want to be stuck again.

I was told the damage key fob message may be related to the ignition module. Could the module be the problem? I even put new battery in the fob. Truck does continue to start without problem.

Key switch(WIN Module) could be bad.

Battery in fob has nothing to do with starting truck. Only the keyless entry. Sounds like now is a good time to upgrade to remote start!!

Possibly. As many electronics as these trucks have im surprised they don't throw a check engine light for farting in the seat
