1.) You may have some ****ty driver installed thats not a legit driver. Basically, they install a half-assed version and call it a day.
2.) Your driver may installed incorrectly or updated and failed.
Radeon Xpress 200m for Windows XP - Release date October 11, 2007
Radeon Xpress 200m for Windows Vista - Release date October 11, 2007
Both of these are version 7.10 and you want to make sure you are downloading the full Catalyst suite, not just the driver.
DevilsReject, when I try to install that do I install the Earthism version or the catalyst, Im assuming catalyst, but when I click on that to install it comes up with an error message saying that there are no compatible drivers. Im not to computer savy as you can tell.

hmm perhaps ATI site isn't as friendly as nvidia's. with nvidia you just select ur card and os and it tells you the driver and a link to d load and how to do it. I suggest going to ATI's site and looking around. also you should be able to uninstall the drivers for the card that are currently installed either through control panel= uninstall a program. it may be listed in there as ATI driver or something. for my nividia card on my pc it's listed as such. or under device manager you can delete the driver for the video adapter which is ur card. the computer will then use the onboard adapter basically the one on the motherboard to run on. this means you will still be able to use the thing but not be using the video card. then you get the driver from ATI and install and boom should work. honestly though I doubt CS source is gonna run too well ona laptop. most games are purrrtyy sad unless on a pc. also next computer definately go nvidia. I just tried to find ATI drivers from them and got confused compared to nvidias whiich is ten thousand million times easier. plus nvidia spanks ATI neway.
if all else fails i'm suggestion total wipe of hd and a clean install of xp. which isn't a very hard procedure and it's nto hard to save thigns you want to keep and then do it. so if it comes to that I can walk you through it easily. that is if you have the disc for xp which you should

It's my understanding that laptops require specific drivers from the laptop maker. Generic drivers won't work. Visit your laptop makers website and see if a newer driver is available. If not then ask the tech support dept.
drivers don't depend on laptop or pc. they depend on OS and the card. most laptops have like what he has which is a vid card specially built for a laptop thus the M on the end. u need a driver that fits that card and that OS.
