RE: Building a boot cd for xp
i have an upgrade cd i can put into a zip file and email to you, but then you would need an old versions boot cd to make it work if you interested i could send you 2 zip files (XP upgrade and 98), just let me know then you would have to burn them and run the install and have your own CD key
o and try seaching your hard drive for the file that you need using the search option in the start menu you might find it that way

RE: Building a boot cd for xp
ok heres the deal, i got my XP cd onto the hard drive and will email it to you, its like a 480 mb file, but my win98 cd is cracked so i cant send you that one my computer wont read it, if you have any old copies of a windows install cd (95,98,NT4.0,2000 ME) it can be used just to confirm that you "qualify" to buy the upgrade version i will try to find my win 95 CD but no garantees as i havnt seen it in lik a year and a half

RE: Building a boot cd for xp
be careful about using the XP key from a pre-installed system
with a retail XP CD
because some
'mass installation' licenses
granted to companies like Dell
are slightly different and won't work with the retail WindowsXP install CD
I found this out when I used a Ryan's VM pack with my Windows XP SP2 intall CD
which 'slipstreams' all the hotfixes in. When I sent this to my younger brother and he tried to use it with a Dell 610 laptop he ran into trouble, and a call to the Dell hotline told us that the mass installation key would not work with a retail XP CD
Ryan's VM Pack is worth looking over:

NLite is good
but the Ryan way is simple and faster
