The 09 2500/3500 are 3rd gen, in 2010 they will be 4th gen, like the 1500.

The others are right, just because some stuff is different, doesn't mean you can't help each other. Also don't turn this into a Cummins/HEMI debate, they both have their pros/cons.

A 2500 gasser is the same engine as a 1500 gasser. There are a few body, suspension, and driveline differences, but if you made a separate forum it'd end up be about 6 guys giving each other reach arounds and waiting a day or two for and anwser and you'd end up going to the 1500 forum or the CTD forum for help.

Not trying to be rude, but the 2500 gasser is a sort of rare bird, and I think the subforum would be a waste.

With the price of a diesel flue and the apparent image of a CTD owner who drives to home depot, thiers a lot a hemi 2500's on the road, who needsto spend a extra 7 grand+ to stroke a image?
My 2500 hemi is as fast as a CTD, gets the same milage empty, but has no where the tow rating of a CTD, but, I don't need to tow more than 11,000 lbs.

The hemi is great with the 2500 suspension, gets respectable mpg with a 6sp, 373 LTD slip.

By all means get a CTD if you need the king of towing and are going to use it, I decided to keep the extra 7 grand in my hands.

hemi or CTD, the 2500 is suited to be worke horse, the CTD is the king with a KIngs price tag.

booth are awsome engines ...

No way in hell does that hemi get the same mileage in that big old truck, neither is it as fast.

I work with a guy who owns a 06 2500 reg cab ctd 6sp manual 410 ltd slip, I have the identical body style 373 ltd slip 5.7 6sp, we play drag racer a lot, due to the low gearing of the six speed, both rigs are not drag racers, but Its a fair race betwean booth trucks, I'm as fast as the ctd empty...

booth rigs are stock, and I concead the CTD has way more hop up potential than the hemi,

The Hemi in the 2500 and 3500 does not have MDS so they are a bit different.
