No I dont know much about PC gaming, and yes I do play first person shooters. I just prefer sitting in my recliner (in a comfortable position, not hunched over) not at a desk, and experiencing things on a larger screen with loud *** surround sound. To each his own. I just think gaming is a weak reason to buy a computer. Neither one of you own a xbox? Whatever cons you think it has over a keyboard and mouse is easily made up for in cost of systems. Purpose built consoles.

I recline in a recliner myself too. Have a nice keyboard tray that extends out so I'm nice and comfy. I have a 20" widescreen monitor that is quite nice to both game on and play movies on. I also have a 5 speaker surround sound hooked up, but I typically have a headset on, thus I dont really need the surround sound. Although its nice when I'm home alone to blare the game.

Gaming is one of the main pushers of computer technology. Without it, you wouldnt have the quality consoles you have today. What do you think your Xbox is? It's a PC in a small form factor case.

Also, those expensive TV's have to factor into the cost of your "gaming console" since you cant play them without a screen. Considering that my PS3 cost $600 back when it debuted, that's almost half the cost of my PC...without even including my TV.

Good points, but I don't factor in the cost of my T.V. and speakers... Because I didn't buy them just to play games. They were purchased for watching T.V. and movies. I used PC's my whole life. Purchased a mac 7 months ago and am more than impressed. Its just a bad *** computer. Which is what this thread is about.

I use a PC for other things besides gaming. I do photoshop work, I use it to DJ, I check email, and test/utilize applications for work and so forth. The point is, I still use it to game. I use my PC to watch movies and TV as well.

Macs are fairly decent machines, that I wont argue. I can see the appeal of them for a number of reasons. However, they arent better then a PC anymore....they're simply equals who have the ability to do somethings better then the other and vice versa..
