OK as i can tell we have the ability to : Post New Thread, Reply to Message, Post New Poll, Submit Vote. all make sense for a regular general equal to everyone else member. my question and concern come into play about why we are not allowed to: Delete My Own Post, Delete My Own Thread, Rate Posts. to me i don't think we should have the ability to delete my own thread, or rate posts. by why cant we delete are own posts if we so choose. i am seeing more and more posts edited to "never mind" or "ignore" or w/e, but you get the point. i didn't see why we cant delete our own posts. it is obviously just something u have to unclick or click in setup of the site. I'm open ears if you can give me at least 1 good reason why i can not delete my own posts.

 

That's the moderators opinion whether to remove the post or not. What's wrong with editing?

Cause it forces you to think before you post. Why would you want to delete your post anyway?

and what if u don't. what if u rethink something. u edit it to never mind or ignore or w/e. and then we got people posting 4 or 5 time sin a row. now they know there is the edit button they cant combine them all nd delete the extras. thats why the edit button is important too. so we can fix mistakes, but if there are mistakes that we don't want and are wasting space why not have the ability to delete them.

The edit button allows you to remove what you didn't want someone to see. Although you know you shouldn't have posted it anyway right?

I've just alwaays done something like,

"*edit* Ooopps." or whatever.

I agree, it make you think and read over the post before you hit ok. On the rare occasion that you change your mind an oops or a please delete works great.

 

i wish we had more input then 5 of us. 2 are moderators, both against it. one agrees with anyone in power, and the other 2 think it is a good idea. i just wish more people would comment on this.
