My sons 99 2500 cummins is not registering RPM's on the gauge. It does run funny but all of the sudden it will register and run fine. The check engine light has been on but it is flashing code of hot engine and hot transmission. Does anyone know what this is?

 

Hey did you figure out what the problem was? i am starting to have that same issue with the RPM gauge, i haven't been able to get a computer to see what codes the check engine light is showing

I have a 1996 dodge 3500 8.0 v10 and would like to install a 5.9 diesel. Would everything bolt up and does anyone think it would interchange easily.
