Its a good notebook...I have the Inspiron 6000 15.4 inch...basically the same thing re-labled, but I dont have the built in webcam. Thats why I bought a Dell too, because no one else would finance me..Well Gateway would, but they do automatic withdraw, and I dont really trust them taking payments out of my account. I have had this since January; and I love it.

Should have got the 7200 RPM drive. The HDD in todays laptops are a bottleneck, well if they are the 5400 RPM.

it maybe fine for what he wants to do, plus that could be all he could afford; remember he has to pay monthly payments on it, and he is in college. The more you get; the more you pay! I hate when people say "You should've got this and you should've got that"...Well, If you want me to get this and get that; then you pay my payments!!!!

The HDD 7200 RPM would have been a better performance mod than the 1.86 upgrade, 1.66 was the standard, which is almost a push in price. I know of what I talk about in the computer world. Maybe someone else will benefit from the HDD comment, not sure how many will benefit from your "I hate" comment.

Ok...pay his payments! You couldve just said " Yeah it'll do, but I myself would've preferred this...", but no you basically told him it was crap; in a not so rude way.

Hehehe...
What does working for a place (Air Force, in my case) that has big, expensive contracts with software companies get you? Free anti-virus (Symantec, and I think I can get Trend Micro and McAfee as well; and I think some firewall software) and greatly reduced prices on a few Microsoft products (such as Office for $20).

What sucks about working for a place that has big, expensive contracts with software/hardware companies? Lots of computer based training, people who are unhelpful with questions because "this can be done online via this ultra-confusing web site," and super-fast networks that are totally useless because all the cool sites are blocked.
