Official Dodge Journey Fuel Economy Thread...
What are y'all getting. Please include Journey model (SXT, RT, etc.), engine and what kind of driving you are doing.
I had a chance to take mom's on a little trip cross state to drop her off for a little stay at my aunt's home. About a 210 mile round trip, 170 miles on interstates and/or 55 mph limit, four lane highways and about 40 miles of in-town driving.
PRIOR to this trip, her trip computer read 21.8 mpg and had never been reset since the day we bought it. I reset it, filled up and recorded the mileage so I could hand calculate to verify.
Upon return I parked it for the night at my place and used it on a 24 mile round trip, about half highway-half town driving to go play golf and back. Got gas on my way home to fill-up and calculated by hand.
Trip computer showed 24.8 MPG and hand calculated I got 24.3 MPG. Pretty respectable out of a mid-sized, cross-over CUV with a pretty peppy V6 IMO. Also, I'll include that we "made" the dealer take the factory 19" wheels/tires off and install factory 17" wheels/tires. I think the 17s make a difference in fuel economy.

Just past 15000 miles. Average MPG for this 3.5L V-6, has been close to 20. Best has been 28.9 on I-5 over 400 miles @ 70 MPH
Real happy with the MPG and performance (when in manual mode) in the mountains too.
So far, second best car I have ever owned, best value in a Crossover, that's for sure.

This side has been quiet.. was going for a new durango but since its going to be mainly for my wife she likes the journey. At a cheaper price, no arguments here.. when we move out of state and have the space ill pick up a 13' D for me.. would like to know more about mpg.. if anyone has modified in any way and gained any...
We have 2011 Journey "Mainstreet" 3.6L V6 with 6 speed automatic, 17 inch wheels, around town with some short highway jaunts 21.8 mpg , just Highway on trips we have seen averages up to 28.2 but typical combined is about 25.7. I find this excellent as I do not "baby" the throttle.
Update. After 18000 miles mi economy has dropped considerably. Now around town the best I can get is 14.5 and on the highway at 70-75 MPH I am only getting 24 when the road is basically flat. This is a bit troubling as I keep trying different things to increase the MPG. I switched to a K&N air filter, but no help.
Update. I haven't used mom's Journey much but she's sitting at 19.7 on her "trip computer" with her 3.5L V6. Still not bad since it's ALL in-town driving. My mother won't drive outside of town...

19" wheels/stock tires
25-26mpg on the Highway depending on conditions. I get as low as 22-23 with a strong headwind. In town, I get anywhere for 18-19mpg. I tend to baby my throttle and use the efficiency meter, although I do get after the throttle once in a while. Only use the manual shift for passing.
Peace.

I've actually been using mom's Journey a good bit lately due to the fact that the 4.7 HO engine in my Jeep Grand Cherokee decided to drop a valve seat and basically explode on me.
My driving habits must be better than my mother's because I'm consistently seeing about 3-4 mpg better than she does.
BTW - beware Pentastar owners, I'm hearing about A LOT of valve and head problems with the Pentastar engines...
