Angry 2011 Journey Transmission

2011 Journey SXT - transmission intermitantly makes a clunking noise when puttiing it into drive. Mentioned this to the Dodge service desk personnel and was told 'yah thats the way that tranmissions work - if there was a problem with it'll show up via electronic diagnostics'. Anyone else have an issue with a clunk when going into drive?

My '11 DJ has done it several times since new but as the
more milage has gone by it does it very infrequently.
I noticed it was usually after backing into a parking spot
and mentioned it at first service but as usual it would not
do it when I tried to show service tech although he said
he had experienced it with DJs he had driven.
If it develops a real problem I guess that's what the
warantee is will cover.

I would check both drive axle nuts and the front motor mount first.

IMHO if your trans is making noise when putting it into gear then there is most likely a problem somewhere.

Had the same problem on a 2011 Journey. The dealer looked at it and changed the halfshafts or drive shaft. Said that it had been missinstalled. I'm pretty sure it was the halfshafts. I'll need to check the invoice tonight. Problem solved.
